Ferdinando Napoli passed away at the age of 50, but everyone knew him as Nandhouse, one of the most famous DJs in Palermo, an artist who had also managed to establish himself in the world capital of console music, Ibiza. The fatal event was the dissection of the aorta, a sneaky and unfortunately almost always fatal health problem. He had gone under the knife for 9 hours, a few days ago, the operation was successful but the conditions were too serious and unfortunately he never woke up.
Nandhouse started DJing in 1989. His first experiences were in the clubs that were popular in the Sicilian capital in the 90s. In 1992 he began to regularly frequent a radio station that opened the doors to Sicilian nightlife and beyond for Nandhouse. After a few years, Nandhouse began to take flight, specializing more and more in Underground sounds. From there he soon began to collaborate with Sicilian groups that organized events throughout the island, thus supporting all the DJs who were hosted in Sicily, such as: Franco Moiraghi, Claudio Coccoluto, Ralf, Lil Louis, Tony Humpries, Frank Knuckles, Roger Sanchez, Tedd Patterson, Luie Vega and many others. In addition to having established his reputation as a DJ respected everywhere, his fame as a producer was also going strong.
«A part of me goes away with him – says Piero Ceraulo, his best friend -. A true, sincere friendship dies, he wasn’t my blood brother but it’s as if he were. We are all destroyed. We hoped for a miracle but unfortunately he never woke up.”
“Many evenings together at the console, characterized by his wonderful smile and the immense joy in his eyes that he transmitted to everyone near him. The pain is immense, we have lost a great DJ, a unique person”, says Claudia Giannettino, a DJ from Palermo, a good friend of Nandhouse.
From tomorrow the body of Ferdinando Napoli will be in the mortuary of the Polyclinic, with a final farewell on Wednesday 3 July at 9am, with the funeral then at the church of Sant’Orsola at 11am.
