Luca Jurman’s words against Carlo Conti
Luca Jumarn criticized Carlo Conti, with whom he also worked in the past, because he chose to exclude from the new proposals of the Sanremo Festival everyone singers over 26 years old, thus lowering the age from 29 to 26. A decision that, for the former singing teacher of Amici, makes no sense:
But damn it, you’ve always been more on the side of music and artists in your opinion and, in all honesty, I thought that you were making some sort of regulation that would draw attention to art and culture, with changes necessary to give space and light to artists who are not just part of the world of numbers.
Jurman recalled that “even Pippo Baudo had put a limit on the new proposals”, but in that case he had been 36 years old and had allowed “important voices, singer-songwriters of great depth to become part of Italian music“. The former Amici professor then continued:

Instead of putting things back in order, the worst? You go from 29 to 26 years old. Maybe only young people who have gained followers and visibility maybe in some talent will enter? Since it is the Festival of Italian song and not streaming, we hope at least you can find some new writing phenomena because everyone lacks music that makes history.
Carlo Conti’s changes to the Sanremo 2025 regulations
The host and artistic director of the next edition of Sanremo, guest of TG1MattinaEstate, recently talked about some small changes he intends to make to the Festival rules, adopted in the last five years by his predecessor Amadeus. In addition to the evening closing time, Conti explained:
There will be a division between the new proposals and the Bigs. The new proposals will not increase the number of Bigs, they will have their own race, there will be a winner and the Bigs will run their race. There will be no eliminations.
The host also feels a lot of pressure regarding the choice of songs in the competition: “Sanremo is something I have always felt with great responsibility. I often talked about it with Amadeus, having the same artistic path, music is the common thread of our lives. The choice of songs is more important than anything, the rest is like preparing a show.”
