The Emilia-Romagna Region has awarded 15,000 euros total for the Ferrara Film Festival and for the Arena Coop Alleanza 3.0 review organized by Arci.

Throughout Emilia-Romagna they are 11 triennial festivals, 14 annual ones e 16 reviews, for a total of 41 projects dedicated to cinema and audiovisual that they will be supported by the Region con 1 million and 165 thousand euros.

The regional council has approved the ranking of applications received following the call for co-finance and support the organization and realization of events in the cinematographic and audiovisual field of regional, national and international importance.

Initiatives that take place throughout the Emilia-Romagna region throughout the year, with broad diversification in terms of languages, topics covered and audiences.

“Festivals and exhibitions enhance the film industry as a whole, they give productions, even niche ones, the opportunity to show themselves to the public and strengthen themselves – comments Mauro Felicori, the regional councilor for Culture and Landscape -. The Region continues to invest in these events, which overall point in the direction of make Emilia-Romagna the production capital of the audiovisual sector and help local businesses in the sector to grow and innovate.”

Among the actions envisaged in the context of the events and festivals for which support has been recognised, there is also the organization of moments of audience trainingincluding those dedicated to children and young people aimed at developing new talents and new audiences, as well as opportunities for discussion and in-depth analysis for sector operators through panels, seminars and workshops.

Different criteria are used by the Unit for the evaluation of the projects – composed of Fabio Abagnato (head of the Emilia-Romagna Film Commission), Camilla Carra (Cultural Activities sector, economics of culture, young people of the Emilia-Romagna Region), Giacomo Manzoli (Full Professor Department of Arts of the University of Bologna) – for the assignment of scoresin line with the objectives set out in the tender, including regional and national relevance, the quality of the project proposal, the financial structure, the organizational structure, the strategy for training and expanding the public, the expansion of the territorial offer.

It should also be noted the increase in triennial festivalswhose number has gone from five in the past three-year period to eleven in this new three-year plan, with a path of attention and consolidation.
