The mayor Massimo Zedda received in the Civic Palace in Via Roma the French ambassador to Italy, Martin Briens.

The transalpine delegation was welcomed in the representation rooms of the Town Hall where the mayor and the French diplomat spoke at length on the city of Cagliari and on the possible developments of relations with France of possible twinnings with French municipalities.

History, culture, investments and tourism were the main topics highlighted by Mayor Zedda which found great interest on the part of Ambassador Briens.

Also present at the meeting were the French consul general in Rome Fabrice Maiolino, the head of the Cabinet and advisor to the ambassador Pauline Le Louargant and the honorary consul of France in Cagliari Vincent Gerbe.

At the end of the meeting, the two institutional representatives greeted each other in agreement new meeting opportunities in Rome, to delve deeper into some of the aspects covered during the visit.

The first citizen of Cagliari donated to the representatives of the French delegation a publication that traces the history of Ottone Bacaredda, mayor of the city of Cagliari between the end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century.
