(REGLASH) Pescara, 26 June. “The Abruzzo Region is there in the choices and in identifying strategies and actions aimed at the growth of the regional economy. The path followed for the Zes Abruzzo area has allowed us to read the overall situation in the four provinces and to redesign the entire production framework of Abruzzo, guaranteeing funds and allocating new opportunities” says the Councilor for Productive Activities and Labor, Tiziana Magnacca, who speaks after the approval by the Control Room at Palazzo Chigi of the sixth installment of the PNRR for 8.5 billion euros – Italy is the first among European countries – for the reduction of economic gaps in the territories.

On this front, Abruzzo has done its part with the great commitment of the President of the Region Marco Marsilio and who today sees the technical presence of Prof. as the only one in the control room for the Zes. Stefano Cianciotta.

“There is no denying the delays that have accumulated in arriving at the establishment of a single SEZ for the South and which includes the regions of Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Molise, Campania, Puglia, Sicily and Sardinia. A faster path would certainly have been desirable, but there is no doubt about the work carried out so far to reconsider the industrial areas of this region as a strategy for the development of the entire country” adds councilor Magnacca.

After the approval of the sixth installment of the PNRR, the works already entrusted previously and strategic for the infrastructure of our region and therefore for its competitiveness were secured. At the same time we have received reassurances, through the work carried out in Rome, that the provision that will constitute the second level contracting authority in the Abruzzo Region will arrive within a reasonable time, which will directly manage the planned works safeguarded with the sixth instalment.

As for the tax credit relief regime, it is established by European and non-Italian rules, and by virtue of which other southern regions have different criteria as they are inserted in areas with other growth objectives.

“However, we are at the forefront to ensure that this opportunity for growth and that the resources are not wasted by continuing the work that the Abruzzo Region has been carrying out for months to ensure not only the achievement of the infrastructural investments offered by the Zes, but also the opportunities it offers available to companies. With the commitment of councilor D’Annuntiis we will complete the infrastructures planned for Abruzzo to support territorial development” concludes the councilor for Productive Activities and Work Magnacca.
