SUNDAY 30 JUNE IN PESARO THE CONCLUSION OF TEATROLTRE WITH VALENTINA PICELLO IN ANNA CAPPELLIDIRECTED BY CLAUDIO TOLCACHIR

Sunday 30 June the curtain closes on TeatrOltrea festival conceived and created in the spirit of multidisciplinarity byAMAT with the Municipality of Pesaro and other municipalities in the area, to Church of the Annunziata with Anna Cappelli Of Annibale Raiutowith Valentina Picellodirected by Claudio Tolcachir.

The show debuts in Pesaro in national preview at the end of one installation residence carried out within the scope of RAM Artistic residences in the Marche region financed by Marche region and from MiC and is featured on the program of TeatrOltre,

“The text – says Claudio Tolcachir – investigates the role of women over time. Independence, the prospect of the future, loneliness, the lack of means and resources. With biting and absurd humor this play leads through the labyrinths of the mind of an unusual character, full of contradictions. Moving and embarrassing at the same time. Each of us could know her, meet her in our lives; but we could also be her. Feel so helpless to make the worst decisions. A theatrical jewel on the body of a unique actress, Valentina. Her sensitivity, her imagination and the infinite delicacy of her humor will give this text a unique and fresh imprint. A very clear proposal: this woman, the audience, and life among them. Humor and tragedy mixed together. That painful smile that passes through us and does not leave us indifferent”.

The meeting between the Argentine playwright director Claudio Tolcachir and the Italian actress Valentina Picello took place thanks to Building 3. Story of an absurd intent, a show written and directed by Tolcachir and born at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan during the pandemic in 2020. Their artistic and human encounter gave life to an excellent show and an extraordinary character. Tolcachir says of the actress: «Valentina gave the character of Monica (in Building 3) all the emotions and thoughts I had thought for her, enriching her with her very peculiar character. I thought of her as the ideal interpreter for this powerful monologue by a Neapolitan author who I didn’t know until recently, Annibale Raiuto, of whom I now want to read everything.”

Having passed away at the age of thirty in 1986, Annibale Raiuto is today more than ever a cult author with a lyrical and mocking voice, expressive of a generation anxious to recreate a new theater within reality, but also capable of laughing in tragedy. Having arrived on the scene from the school of Roberto De Simone, he represents, alongside Enzo Moscato and Manlio Santanelli, the spearhead of “Neapolitan dramaturgy”, and through his texts, he has recounted the drift of our society through a writing that oscillates between the truth of dialect and parody, intertwining historical echoes with everyday life.

The scenes of the show – produced by Carnezzeria, Teatri di Bari, Teatro di Roma, in collaboration with AMAT and Teatri di Pesaro – are by Cosimo Ferrigolo, stage director Gianluca Tomasella.
