Two people have been reported for illicit trafficking of anabolic substances and narcotic drugs as part of an investigation by the Pavia Prosecutor’s Office started after the death of a 52-year-old man due to illness in a sports centre in Vigevano. This morning they were carried out by the Carabinieri of Vigevano and Massa together with the NAS of Cremona searches carried out on CE, a 34-year-old from Abbiategrasso (Milan) who lives in Vigevano and MR, a 35-year-old from Massa Carrara. The investigation began after the death of kickboxer Antonio Gerace on May 21st. The man had felt ill while he was training in the gym with a friend. His companions had tried to resuscitate him with the defibrillator without success.
Gerace collapsed at the beginning of a training session in a gym in Vigevano on May 20th and died a few hours later at the Humanitas hospital in Rozzano. The investigations by the Carabinieri of Vigevano (Pavia) started from there) who this morning, with the NAS of Cremona, carried out a series of searches in the provinces of Pavia, Milan and Massa Carrara, seizing 3,600 tablets, 88 vials and 780 euros in cash.
In a note signed by the prosecutor of Pavia, Fabio Napoleone, it is explained that investigators are still investigating to verify whether there is a correlation between the kickboxer’s death and the intake of banned substances.
