Torre del Greco – Yesterday the awards ceremony of the Madre Terra competition

The pictorial works under the expert guidance of the painter and construction engineer Prof. Flavia Bracale were carried out by the students on 5 June 2024 at the Liceo De Bottis.

Yesterday 25 June the awards ceremony for the competition relating to the “mother earth” project took place at the Torre del Greco Nautical Club.
This year the competition intended for students of the second and third classes of the “Gaetano De Bottis” classical and linguistic institute (classes 3rd A, 2nd A and 2nd L), sponsored like last year and strongly supported by the former student Dr. Valeria Sessa was organized jointly with the Association of Former Pupils of the De Bottis High School chaired by Prof. Carolina La Verde and the De Bottis High School of Torre del Greco, headed by the School Director, Prof. Letizia Spagnuolo. It was focused on the creation of paintings/canvases with the theme of environmental dynamics in relation to the “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”.

The pictorial works under the expert guidance of the painter and civil engineer Prof. Flavia Bracale were created by the students on 5 June 2024 at the De Bottis High School.
All the works were judged by an internal commission at the Liceo de Bottis formed by Dr. Valeria Sessa, from the

ng.re Flavia bracale, by a teacher of Art History, prof. Teresa Scarpa, on the basis of what was foreseen in the competition notice, previously sent by the Association to families and aimed at children.

The laudable initiative was then extended to the Commander of the CF (CP) Harbor Master’s Office Ida Montanaro, who was willing, over the last month, to exhibit and admire the canvases prepared by the young students at the offices in Via Calastro, with request to users to give a preference with a secret vote to their favorite work.
During the awards ceremony there was great enthusiasm among the students and their families for the realization of the event which saw the presence of an important Torrese institution such as the Port Authority and in particular the Association expressed heartfelt thanks to the commander CF Ida Montanaro.

The headquarters of the Port Authority, at the end of today’s awards ceremony, courtesy of the Institute, will become a permanent gallery and the works created by the students can be admired forever during the opening hours of the headquarters.
