On June 21st, the Lions Club Anzio-Nettuno Host, departing from the port of the city of Nettuno, organized a boat trip to offer young people with different disability situations the opportunity to spend a few hours of fun and serenity on the sea, aboard the boats made available by friends and members of the Club.
The initiative, now in its 12th edition, saw the use of 2 sailing yachts made available, one of 9 meters by member Dante Calderoni, present since the first edition, and another of 13 meters led by a friend of the Club Leonardo Ciotti at his second experience.
Eight boys at 9.30, accompanied by members Giovanni Vallone and Maria Negro and by Mrs. Paola Polverari, President of the non-profit association “Centro Primavera” and promoter of the committee for “After us”, adhering to the shipowners’ invitation “Tutti a board!”, they set off with the two boats commanded by Dante Calderoni and Leonardo Ciotti.
Thanks to the favorable weather conditions – a clear day, lack of wind and a calm sea with a temperature of 32°C – guests were able to appreciate the singular spectacle of the view of the Anziate and Nettuno coast from the sea.
To underline the beautiful experience they had, there were some references to musical motifs, furthermore, the boys, intoxicated by the beauty of nature, with a simple and pure soul, began to scan the sea horizon, sure of being able to see the evolutions of some dolphins he would come to greet them.
Having returned to the port and landed on the quay, in memory of the pleasant experience, the Anzio Nettuno Host Lions gave all the participants a personalized cap and a commemorative medal with the engraving “Everyone on board, no one excluded!“.
