“We learn with great regret of the critical issues that the Anpana association of the Lucca section has revealed and we hope that these difficulties can be resolved, since they do not depend in any way on the Municipality of Lucca”. This is stated by the municipal councilor for animal policies, Cristina Consani –
After recently renewing a three-year agreement with Anpana (for the rescue and recovery of avifauna, baby mammals, eggs and hatches of wild fauna), the municipal administration was in fact saddened to learn from the announcement of the Lucca sectionof the recent difficulties encountered by the association in finding volunteers and consequently carrying out those activities which in recent years have made it a precious reference in the field of animal policies in the area.
“As regards the involvement of the municipal administration – continues councilor Consani -, one of the officials of the offices in charge has simply urged the association in recent days to comply with the terms of the agreement, following some reports received, which provides for 24-hour availability. All this obviously has nothing to do with the difficulties of the association, which we are sure can be resolved also thanks to the awareness of the community, which recognizes the precious role of Anpana in supporting the institutions to guarantee the rights of our animal friends”.
“The volunteers of Anpana Lucca – concludes Consani – have distinguished themselves in recent years for great commitment and resourcefulness, both in ordinary initiatives and in promoting awareness-raising activities also through satisfactory collaborations with the administration. All this without ever losing sight of the founding values of the movement: that is, the protection and safeguarding of the environment and animal species. Precious values for the future of the new generations and absolute cornerstones in the policies of the municipal administration.
