TRENT. “A mountain with large carnivores is a higher mountain” with these words the environmentalist association made up of WWF Trentino Odv and I’m not afraid of the wolf APS reveals the authors behind the campaign dedicated to large carnivores which for a few days can be seen for the streets of Trento.
“The presence of these animals is an inestimable value and, beyond conflicts and polarizations, it is a true cultural value that belongs to our communities and which must be treated as such”, the associations communicate in a note.
“For too long now, a real demonization of these animals has been going on, which is why we thought of creating this campaign, to remind once again how necessary it is to work for coexistence with bears and wolves, true symbols of our mountains and have always been elements and emblems of Trentino culture, just like these animals made of stubbornness and the desire to inhabit the mountains”, comments Aaron Iemma, president of the WWF Trentino.
“The basic idea is very simple, that is to underline how the presence of bears and wolves is an added value for Alpine environments. Naturally we know well how marked the conflict is and how much these species can impact some human activities , but this is at the basis of the value of the mountain and the limits it places on us”, adds Francesco Romito, vice president of I am not afraid of the wolf Aps.
