The 4^F and 4^G classes of ‘De Amicis’ win prizes in the competition organized by Federchimica – TraniLive.it

The Trani students of the fourth classes, sections F and G, of the De Amicis elementary school in Trani are ‘catch-all’ when it comes to demonstrating all their aptitude and stubbornness in achieving high-quality prizes. At the “National Youth Award – Special Chemistry and Sustainability” competition organized by Federchimica, Assobase, PlasticsEurope Italia and the Italian Chemical Society, the two classes won the prize money of over 4 thousand euros which the school will invest in teaching equipment and technical-scientific instruments. The students of teachers Monica Lauro and Roberta Pignatelli won first prize in the “Basic Chemistry” section, producing the interactive game “Ammonia Quiz”, while they had to ‘settle’ for second place in the “Plastic” category, with the video “Plastic is unbeatable when it is sustainable”.

The students enthusiastically joined the projects to participate in the Award, which were included in an interdisciplinary path included in the annual educational-didactic planning and which had the objective of discovering how basic chemistry can contribute to environmental, social and economical. The Awards Ceremony for our students will take place on Friday 25 October 2024 in Genoa, during the Science Festival.
