COSENZA – It was banned by the Women’s Library Association Mirage and by the cultural association Sophia’s Thread, the second edition of the Riccardo Sicilia national short fiction literary competition, on the theme “The self, the beyond and the elsewhere. The round trip of vibrations outside of time and space.”
The competition, sponsored by the municipalities of Cosenza, San Fili, Paola, by the Italian Society of Narrative Medicine, by the Department of Political and Social Sciences and by the “Milly Villa” Women’s Studies Center of the University of Calabria, by the Mondadori Bookshop of Cosenza, by the Circolo di Cultura Tommaso Cornelio of Rovito and by the Comics Museum of Cosenza, broadens its horizon to a theme which combines the profound need of spirituality to the new ones conceptions of time and space deriving from quantum physics: time does not exist, while space in its geographical, social, affective, behavioral and political dimensions can be reached and crossed by the waves of “pure energy” of consciousness, transported by love and its sharing, also through music, sound, art, as vehicles of emotions and transformations.
After the success of the first edition, the competition dedicated to Riccardo Sicilia makes the people who are part of the competition team and the authors who will participate in this second edition “vibrate in unison” again: the bar is raised towards a literature of different quality, which increasingly investigates the soul and its possibilities and in the name of a boy Riccardo Sicilia, who lives in sync between this and other very distant planets, but above all in the hearts of those who loved him and love him.
Works of short fiction (stories) must be received no later than October 30, 2024 to the email [email protected] by h. 11.59pm of 10.30.2024. The awards ceremony will be held in April 2025.

The jury, made up of representatives of the literary world and of literary as well as cultural criticism, will choose the three finalist stories to be awarded, together with those deemed worthy, which will be collected and published, as for the last edition, by the Officine editoriali da Cleto publishing house .
