Livorno weather forecast, rain warning for Sunday 23 June

Bad weather arriving in Tuscany. For tomorrow, Sunday 23 June, the regional civil protection has in fact issued a weather warning bulletin with yellow criticality starting from 8am due to strong thunderstorms spread throughout the region, and therefore also in Livorno, which should only ease from late evening (10pm, ed). According to indications, however, the disturbances could also extend to the day after tomorrow, Monday 24 June. “In a scenario characterized by high forecast uncertainty – writes the civil protection -, intense phenomena will be possible which are occasionally dangerous for the safety of people and capable of causing local inconvenience and damage. Effects attributable to hydrogeological-hydraulic risk will be possible of the minor reticulum which could occur suddenly and unexpectedly”. Violent gusts of wind are also expected, with possible hailstorms. Weather conditions which, obviously, would seriously jeopardize the holding of the Risi’atori Cup, already postponed today for the second time.

  • Avoid crossing flooded roads and underpasses if they appear flooded as the depth and speed of the water may be greater than it appears.
  • The force of the precipitation could cause the manhole caps to come out of their seats: pay attention when driving even on slightly flooded streets.
  • Be careful when traveling on roads where the water has receded because there could be dangers.
  • Avoid passing or stopping along the banks of watercourses, and on bridges and walkways.
  • Place barriers to prevent water from flooding rooms below street level, such as cellars and underground garages.
