The Services Conference has given the green light to the first lot of the project for the redevelopment of the large section of the historic center of Castellammare di Stabia overlooking Piazza del Municipio and the sea. The plan involves the restoration and refunctionalization of the former Convent of San Francesco and the former College of the Fathers of the Company.
After this bureaucratic step, the tender will soon be published to entrust the design and execution of the works to a company. The bodies involved, including the Superintendence

of Naples, the municipality of Castellammare and the Archdiocese of Sorrento-Castellammare are called to give their approval to the work during the Services Conference.
The plan envisages that the structure, part of the building that currently houses the Seminary school, will be completely transformed into a space for youth gathering, maintaining the school and strengthening the oratory project. The creation of spaces for cultural initiatives and direct access to the area from Piazza Giovanni XXIII, including the Diocesan Museum, is also envisaged.
The overall cost of the project is four million euros, financed by the Ministry of Culture, and should be completed in three years. This is an intervention aimed at giving prestige to the ancient center of Castellammare di Stabia, recovering the relationship with the sea and enhancing the history and culture of the area.
