“I couldn’t wash those stains on my clothes”

A mother reported her son for violence against a girl. The 29-year-old young man is accused of sexually assaulting and robbing an 18-year-old on the night between 8 and 9 June in Pordenone. The photos of the clothes that the boy’s mother handed over to the police were fundamental to the arrest. As reported by the Gazzettino, the young man had returned home during the night, undressed and put his clothes to be washed. The woman then noticed large fuchsia stains on her clothes that she couldn’t clean. Once news of the violence spread, the mother linked the time of the attack with the stains on the 29-year-old’s clothes and understood that they had been caused by an indelible anti-aggression spray. In an attempt to defend herself from the attack, the girl had sprayed the recognizable spray on the young man. The substance contained is indelible, similar to that used to mark banknotes of illegal origin or which in any case are intended to be recognisable.

“I am a woman, a mother and I am worried”

Hence the decision to report the son and hand over the photographic evidence of the boy’s clothes, who in the meantime was already making contact to escape to Spain. “I am a woman, a mother and I am worried. I am a respectable person and I fear that my son is involved in the sexual violence I read about in the newspaper”: with these words the mother of the 29-year-old young man, a Colombian citizen, addressed to the police to report his son. “I love my son but it’s right that I pay if he made a mistake. Even if I’m devastated,” she added.

The clothes worn by both the girl and the 29-year-old on the night of the attack are now seized. The documents also include the recognition made by the 18-year-old and the medical report indicating a seven-day prognosis. In front of the investigating judge, the 29-year-old said he didn’t remember anything about that evening because he was drunk.
