VENAFRO. Once the feast of the Patron Saints has passed, the municipal administration of Venafro is ready with the calendar for the VENAFRANA SUMMER 2024. “The rich program – explains the mayor Alfredo Ricci – is the result of a dialogue with the local associations, which started as early as month of March and built with them step by step, in particular by the Managing Director for the Organization of Events and Shows Aurelio Elcino. The Administration will financially support the events in an important way, both to guarantee opportunities for free time and entertainment for citizens during the summer months, and to attract people and tourists from outside the ordinary”.
The calendar will cover the entire summer, from 22 June to 21 September, ranging from cultural events and painting exhibitions to opportunities to enhance local food and wine traditions and products, from entertainment and sports events to those of social promotion, seeking to meet everyone’s entertainment needs: from families to the elderly, from young people to children, with attention to the entire municipal territory. OPERA AL LAGETTO returns on 21 and 23 July, with the contribution of the Municipality and Region Molise and Fondazione Molise Cultura and with the renewed collaboration with Italians in the World and under the artistic direction of Maestro Claudio Luongo. Some now traditional events for Venafro are proposed again: A WALK THROUGH THE CEPPAGNA CELLARS of the Con Il Cuore association, PARASACCO IN PIAZZA, the MADONNA DEGLI ANGELI FESTIVAL of VALLECUPA and the SPEZZATO DI CEPPAGNA FESTIVAL, the cinema in the square with MOLISE CINEMA, up to THIS IS VENAFRO, launched last year by the Municipal Administration with good public success, and an evening dedicated to the Le Noci hamlet.
Space for culture with the new edition of NIGHT OF POETRY by Venus Verticordia, three PAINTING EXHIBITIONS at the Palazzina Liberty (that of Lino Principe, the thematic one dedicated to the “Views of Castello Pandone yesterday and today” and that of the Venafra artist Adriano Cimino) and the multifaceted evenings that the Città Nuova association will organize to celebrate twenty years of activity. And then there are this year’s bets: the entertainment evening IN THE 90’S I WAS THERE, MAGICAL NIGHT AT THE CASTLE of the R association ‘L’PRIATORIE, which already promises to be a great success, STREET FOOD GOURMET, to combine food and wine and entertainment in the municipal villa, and THE NIGHT OF S. LORENZO IN THE MUNICIPAL VILLA organized by the Proloco, in the wake of the first historical editions of the Summer Venafrana. Moments of sport and art will still be guaranteed with the CTA Musical Show, with the artistic gymnastics performance of the ASD Gymnastic Venafro, with the traditional basketball tournament in the villa organized by Basket Venafro and with the twentieth edition of the Memorial Domenico Silvestri organized by the Venafro Cycling Society. The Venafrana Summer will close with the social event, THREADS AND COLORS: TOGETHER FOR LIFE organized by the Il Girasole ODV association.
“Music, culture, sport, gastronomy, entertainment for children and many new things! The Venafrana Summer program can be summarized in this way – underlines the City Councilor delegated to the organization of events and shows and relations with the associations Aurelio Elcino. The constant collaboration between the Municipal Administration and Associations, intensified in recent months, has given rise to a varied and important calendar of events. In fact, events for every “palate” have been included in the 2024 programme. There will now be “fixed” appointments for our city and its surroundings but also many brand new events. With the resources available – concludes Elcino – we have tried to set up a calendar that will allow those who want to experience some summer evenings in our city and welcome customers who will have the pleasure of choosing us”. In his thanks, the mayor underlines the importance of collaboration and teamwork : “I want to thank the friends of the Administration, who all worked together to prepare this calendar, in particular the Councilor Aurelio Elcino, tireless delegate for the organization of events and shows and relations with the associations, who able to coordinate every aspect and will then follow the organizational details. I would like to extend a special thank you to all the associations who once again showed themselves willing to collaborate with the Administration to set up a varied calendar. The promotion of our territory also passes through these events, in the wake that we have traced and developed increasingly over the years”.
