“The appeal before the Council is being studied”

Michele Emiliano announces battle on differentiated autonomy. The Apulian governor announced to Ansa that “the Region with its offices is evaluating every possibility very carefully, including directly challenging the Calderoli law before the Constitutional Court“. The summit of the Puglia Region, therefore, evaluates various options against the Government’s rules: from supporting the appeal being prepared by the Campania governor De Luca, up to direct action by the local Puglia body.

The President of the Region also specified that the appeal before the Council “for the Regions it is only possible for violations of the regional sphere of competence“.

On differentiated autonomy, Emiliano should explain why his council, on 24 July 2018, had adopted resolution number 1358 having as its object ‘Drafting a proposed initiative for the determination of particular forms and conditions of autonomy of the Puglia Region on the basis of ‘art. 116, paragraph 3, of the Constitution. Start of proceedings’. Did he perhaps want the secession of Puglia?“, comments the senator of the Brothers of Italy, Ignazio Zullo.

Allow me to suggest to Emiliano – concludes the center-right exponent from Bari – to avoid talking in tokens, its credibility is now at its lowest level, don’t let it sink even further because unfortunately for us it institutionally represents Puglia and the Apulians, a proud land and people accustomed to not speaking according to convenience“.
