The upper part of the city is at the center of the requests

The majority municipal councilor Alessio Ruffino intervenes with a rather harsh note on Modica Alta and on the request for some important interventions for road safety which to date has remained unheeded by the administration

Year to date-declares Ruffino- and precisely since the end of last February, I find myself asking the administration and the councilor with delegation to the local police, as well as the Commander, cyclically and slavishly for the reconstruction of the pedestrian crossings, the installation of vertical and horizontal signs, the restoration of crossings existing pedestrian crossings and the construction of new ones and the installation of bollards and parabolic mirrors especially in the upper part of the city”.

But apparently the administration, as usual, does not give concrete answers even to the majority councilors and in fact Ruffino declares “The answer is always the same: “next week”, or “soon” or “there is no staff”. Given that little or nothing has changed after months, perhaps the truth is different: there is a lack of will to really tackle the problem of road and urban safety in the city” Ruffino’s complaint is quite strong but is motivated by the fact, as the councilor himself underlines, that it is “of essential services that are on a par with public lighting and correct waste management”.

Ruffino declares that he is aware that the local police force is deficient but, he underlines, “it is unacceptable that we do not immediately ask for a discussion with those responsible to intervene on these services which are the basis of the safety of motorists and pedestrians. I have repeatedly reported the need for greater controls, the Modica Alta neighborhood is in a state of disarray, left in disarray and without direct and indirect controls such as video surveillance and preventive measures.” Ruffino concludes by stating that “This state of inertia is no longer tolerable and it is good for public opinion to know that this state of affairs has not gone unnoticed by those who, like myself, frequent and live in the neighborhood and deal with the needs of the residents and the territory. ”
