Castellammare – The DIA confirms the hegemony of the D’Alessandros in the area despite numerous arrests

It is the rich Sorrento Peninsula, a territory of drug dealing.

In Naples and its province there is “a resurgence of conflict between Camorra associations, the peculiar characteristic of which is represented by the very young age of the protagonists and the availability of weapons, including weapons of war”. This is what we read in Dia’s half-yearly report, referring to first six months of 2023published today.
The two main antagonistic ‘cartels’, the Secondigliano Alliance and the Mazzarella clan, in addition to pursuing the most classic illicit interests, also resort to more sophisticated strategies of infiltration of the Neapolitan economic and social fabric”, underlines the Dia, according to which ” at the lowest level, small criminal groups constitute the real workforce for the activity of drug dealing, robberies and extortion, in a condition of permanent conflict”.

Furthermore, in the territories of the northern hinterland of the Campania capital, “numerous other Camorra clans are rooted, some historic and with consolidated organizational structures, others reduced by incessant repressive actions and conflicts with rival clans”. More generally, Dia’s analysis highlights that “alongside historical mafia associations, equipped with consolidated organizational structures, minor delinquent groups coexist, mainly of a family type, whose main identity factor is represented by the territory”.

TO Castellammare di Stabia, the D’ALESSANDRO clan would remain operational which, despite the state of detention of many of its members, can still count on the presence in the relevant territory of numerous top figures including some close family members of the deceased historical leader. In the same territorial context, a recent police operation would also have ascertained the permanence of the CESARANO clan whose illicit interests would extend to the neighboring territories of Pompeii (NA) and Scafati (SA). In particular, on 10 July 2023, the Carabinieri carried out a precautionary measure order against 20 people attributable to the aforementioned clan, accused of mafia association, attempted murder, extortion, illegal carrying of a clandestine weapon, robbery, detention for the purposes of drug dealing, undue access to devices suitable for communication by detained individuals, all aggravated by mafia methods and purposes.

TO Gragnano it would be conf

the operation of the DI MARTINO clan has been concluded, the historical leader of which is currently detained. From a recent investigative activity it appears that the aforementioned clan, for which the activity of cultivation and sale of narcotics is documented, has established criminal-business relationships in this illicit sector with the D’ALESSANDRO clan of Castellammare di Stabia. In particular, on 2 May 2023, the Carabinieri and the Financial Police carried out a precautionary custody order against some members of the DI MARTINO clan of Gragnano, including the clan leader’s son, accused of criminal association aimed at trafficking and drug dealing. From investigative reconstructions, the son of the clan leader would have entered into business with a representative of the D’ALESSANDRO clan for the Sorrento peninsula who, although detained, would have given instructions to his partner to purchase from the DI MARTINO clan using a mobile phone smuggled into the prison facility. cocaine and marijuana to be sold in the Sorrento area.

In the Municipalities of Pimonte And Agerola instead, the operation of the AFELTRA clan would be confirmed, whose illicit interests focus on extortion, in particular to the detriment of entrepreneurs in the thriving local dairy sector.

The aforementioned D’ALESSANDRO clan, from what has emerged, would therefore also extend its criminal influence to the territories of the neighboring area of Sorrento where he would control drug dealing. Indeed, recent investigative activities would confirm how the rich Sorrento peninsula is of widespread interest for criminal organizations from neighboring areas with regards to drug trafficking. In this regard, it is recalled in the DIA report, “the precautionary custody order carried out by the Carabinieri on 23 May 2023, which led to the arrest of 33 people who were part of a criminal group with an operational base in Vico Equense and dedicated to drug dealing of narcotics in the Sorrento peninsula, accused of possession and dealing of drugs as well as extortion, illegal possession of firearms and receiving stolen goods. The investigative activity also revealed that the group had multiple references for the supply of the narcotic, including clans. operating in the Penniniello Park of Torre Annunziata”.
