With the closure of the ranking on 18 June 2024, Italy obtains two Olympic quotas in the competition feminine singular of table tennis.

The announcement by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) sees the Italians re-entering the ranking for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Giorgia Piccolin (n. 60) e Debora Vivarelli (n.84).

For Piccolin, a 28-year-old from Bolzano, it will be the first appearance in five hoops among the senior. In fact, the Italian athlete has already participated in the competition in the youth edition, reserved for Under 18s, held in 2014 in Nanjing (China).

Vivarelli, however, will add a second consecutive Olympic presence to his career: in Tokyo 2020 he finished in 49th place.

In the French capital, the table tennis tournament will be held from July 27th to August 3rd at the Paris South Arena.

Since the National Olympic Committees (NOC) have the exclusive authority for the representation of their respective countries at the Olympic Games, athletes’ participation in the Paris Games depends on their NOC’s selection of representatives in the delegation to Paris 2024.
