Sunday 30 June at the restaurant Legnanese Family Dinner the prize will be awarded Teresa Merlo at the Bianca Ballabio Legnano Foundationan association supporting students, young doctors, residents or researchers in the field of medical sciences.
The foundation was born in February 2021 by mother Michela and father Massimo to remember their daughter Bianca, a medical student who died prematurely following a road accident.
The award will be awarded in relation to the projects carried out – through donations aimed at innovation – in the health and welfare field, which give medical-scientific institutions the possibility of operating with greater commitment and competence and for the scholarships awarded, which allow make the dreams of other future doctors and researchers come true.
Another reason for the award is given by the choice to bring to life, through the Foundation named after her, Bianca’s dream of becoming a passionate and enthusiastic doctor, dedicated to the in-depth study and development of medicine and the care of others and the community. The foundation is thus characterized as a place of intercultural exchange of studies and insights and support for both medical research and the training of young doctors, specialists and researchers.
With these motivations, and with extreme pleasure, the board of directors of the Legnanese Family has decided to award the “Teresa Merlo Award” 2024 to the “Bianca Ballabio Foundation”, in the person of President Massimo Ballabio and of the vicepresident Michela Bonzi Ballabio.
We also remember the Civic Merit received in November 2023 from the Municipality of Legnano, for the Foundation’s achievements, also in collaboration and for the benefit of the Legnano Hospital.
On this occasion, the Historic Members who have been part of the Famiglia Legnanese association for over 40 years will also be rewarded: Brun Giorgio, Brusatori Giorgio, Caironi Aurelio, Caironi Giovanni, Ceriani Enrico e Roseo Tower. In the evening the new members will be tapped.
