The historic Lupi cooperative, in via Giuseppe Taverna 137, will host the Great Dinner on Tuesday 25 June at 8pm, promoted by Boorea, Legacoop Emilia Ovest, and sponsored by the Municipality and Province of Piacenza.
Having reached its fifth edition in Piacenza this year, the event is part of the stages of the tour which also involves Reggio Emilia and Parma in a territorial network characterized by cooperation and solidarity.
The Great Dinner has been held continuously since December 2000 (starting from Reggio), raising over 530 thousand euros for local and international solidarity projects in the past 23 years.
The Piacenza initiative plans to seat up to 60 people at the table, who come together to spend a pleasant evening aimed at supporting AMOP, the Piacentina Oncological Sickness Association.
The organization has already been active in our area for years, it has financed scholarships for doctors, nurses, psychologists; it also supported the purchase of medical instruments for early and increasingly precise diagnosis; has trained and updated professionals on modern technologies and the most innovative drugs that have made Piacenza oncology a structure of excellence certified by ESMO – which represents the highest scientific recognition in the oncology field. It promotes and supports three projects aimed at beauty, the treatment of drug-induced toxicities, and the prevention of disease or relapses through healthy lifestyles such as physical activity and nutrition.
The Foundation was created in 2023, with a broader vision of interventions in the Piacenza area and a strong attention and dedication to research for improving the care and quality of life of cancer patients.
The Lupi Cooperative has returned to being a place of aggregation and meeting for the neighborhood since 2022. It reopened its doors in the year of the centenary of the death of Gaetano Lupi, the young socialist killed during the clash with a group of fascists.
The supplier cooperatives Coop Alleanza 3.0, Cantine Riunite&CIV and GranTerre support the project.
The evening menu includes a starter of mixed cured meats, two first courses, dessert, house wine, water and coffee, all for 35 euros.
