VITERBO – The increase in waste management costs risks being a real burden for the municipalities and it is a certain fact that the situation could have a significant impact on the pockets of the people of Viterbo. The law requires municipalities that this specific cost be paid entirely by citizens through the Tari. There is no provision for intervention by municipal bodies to reduce spending on citizens.
The bloodletting on the doorstep is one of the highly topical issues, according to an estimate by the Uil in recent years the tari has increased on average in the municipalities in Italy by 7%. A generalized blow for citizens, especially for the municipalities of Southern Italy where they suffer from low levels of waste separation which increase landfill disposal.

The increase in the TARI is affected by inflation, which has grown significantly in the last two years, but also by the general increase in the costs of energy and raw materials which end up producing greater costs for companies also involved in this sector, costs which end up in the service and therefore have an impact on citizens’ pockets.
