The launch event of the META-DEST | project will be held tomorrow, Thursday 20 June, in Pisa, at the headquarters of the North West Tuscany Chamber of Commerce. The Multi-Platform destination for Tourism Innovation, of which the Alghero Foundation is a partner.
President Neria De Giovanni will be present in Pisa and will talk about the experience gained by the Alghero Foundation in the field of European planning.
«It is in fact a new and ambitious project carried out in partnership with prestigious bodies, in the belief that developing networks and knowledge, investigating issues of close interest to the territory, generates positive consequences to the benefit of the tourism sector and the city», underlines Neria De Giovanni.
The META-DEST project was in fact born with the aim of promoting the technological transition of the cultural and tourism industries of the cross-border territory (Tuscany, Sardinia, Liguria, PACA and Corsica) through the new digital dimensions (metaverse, video games and gamification, virtual reality, augmented reality, generative AI), with particular attention to environmental and social sustainability. Design that fits into the path already traced by the Alghero Foundation with the successful “Play Alghero”the system of analogue and digital gaming experiences inspired by the cultural heritage of the area which is helping to revolutionize the traditional visit to the cultural sites of the Coral Riviera thanks to gamification.
