The END OF COURSE STUDENTS TOURNAMENT, organized on Sunday 9 June by ASD Monza Bridge under the aegis of the Lombardy Regional Committee, was a great success with participation, in fact it saw 110 new recruits from Lombardy and Piedmont lined up at the tables.
26 Pairs of 1st Year Students and 29 Pairs of 2nd Year Students and Pre-Competitors battled for three hours while around fifteen Instructors collaborated to assist at the tables, answer hot questions from the players at the end hand and let the students play at the lame table.
Some students from the BAS course of the Liceo Vittorio Veneto and the Federation course for students of the Polytechnic of Milan also participated.
At the end of the tournament, Maestro Giuseppe Di Martino held a short lesson examining the bidding and play of 4 teaching hands that he had specially prepared and included among those of the tournament.
After the awards ceremony, the photos and the delivery of the Lombardy region t-shirts to the winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd place for all three years of the course), the afternoon ended with the moment expected by everyone: the rich buffet which sanctioned the convivial spirit of the event.
The large participation demonstrates that the efforts to promote Bridge are bearing fruit and the general enthusiasm requires us to continue on this path and to organize events dedicated to students and also based on the socializing aspect of the game more often.
