After that nightmare survey, a huge meeting in the Province of Como between schools and public transport leaders

The meeting was held this afternoon at Villa Gallia, promoted by the President of the Province of Como, Fiorenzo Bongiasca, between representatives of local public transport, present ASF, FNM Autoservizi and the Local Public Transport Agency, and those of high schools (areas 11 and 12), present the Provincial School Office, the school managers concerned and a representation of the parents.

The moment of discussion organized by the Provincial Administration aimed to delve deeper, in particular, into the problems that emerged from a survey carried out in recent months by the parents of high school students, bringing together all the subjects involved around the same table.

“Our goal is to organize transport in an increasingly efficient and punctual way, to guarantee students a service suited to their needs – declared President Bongiasca – In this discussion table, we have brought together all the actors involved to find solutions shared that promote the well-being and mobility of our children.”
The schools have therefore undertaken to provide data relating to the countries of origin of their students, as well as their timetable, in order to allow public transport companies to develop, as early as the end of July, a timetable proposal to be shared in a subsequent meeting which will be scheduled before the start of school scheduled for 12 September. To refine the definitive timetable, questionnaires will then be proposed to the schools which the Principals will send to parents via the electronic register to find out the students’ transport habits.

The Provincial Administration reiterated its commitment to actively follow the proposals that emerged from the meeting and to collaborate with all the actors involved to find concrete and timely solutions to guarantee students a public transport service suited to their needs.
