The emporium and social boutique is ready to open its doors to support families in difficulty. The Personal Services division announces that the deadlines are now open for the submission of applications for access to the Emporium and the Social Boutique of the multifunctional center for children and adolescence The House of Girls and Children, in implementation of the municipal regulation for access to the integrated system of services and social interventions (approved with resolution of the municipal council no. 35 of 21/4/2016), and of the Service Regulations (approved with resolution of the municipal council no. 496 of 22/06/2022). The Home for Girls and Children is an educational and social service of public interest that responds to the needs of the most fragile Italian and migrant families with minor children, implementing a system of support and care interventions and proposing itself as a qualified space at the which every child, supported by an adult, can have their first socialization experiences. The center has inside a Solidarity Emporium and Social Boutique: in the Emporium you can find, on the shelves, food, products for hygiene and personal care and living environments, toys and articles for early childhood, material school; the Social Boutique is a useful place for creating opportunities for meeting, exchanging and/or lending toys, books, clothes also for expectant mothers, usable and reusable items (strollers, cots, high chairs etc.) in the different stages of growth some children.
The Emporium also has a service/warehouse area for receiving donations, for the delivery and storage of donated and inventoried products, through a computerized mechanism for tracking and monitoring outgoing and incoming goods. The activities provided by the Solidarity Emporium and Social Boutique are: support for conscious shopping, alternative consumption, raising awareness against food waste; provision of exceptional food and/or hygiene kits, birth kits, childhood kits and one-off kits; provision of measures to support autonomy: shopping and pharmaceutical vouchers, in compliance with the regulations approved with Resolution GM 803 of 27 November 2018. The recipients of the services of the multifunctional center are families made up of Italian citizens residing in the Municipality of Bari as well as, following the acceptance by the Social Services, of citizens of a State belonging to the European Union or coming from States not belonging to the European Union regularly present in the territory of Bari. For access to the Emporium and the Social Boutique: families must have an ISEE not exceeding 9,360 euros, have at least one minor child between the ages of 0 and 12 or a pregnant woman. Applications for the Emporium and the Social Boutique must be presented at the Social Secretariat offices present in the offices of the 5 Municipalities or at the Social Help Desk (single Welfare number 080 577 7777).
The request must be completed on the appropriate form, accompanied by a copy of the identification document and ISEE or DSU (returned for ISEE purposes). The social worker of the municipality to which they belong will proceed, for each applicant, with one or more in-depth interviews aimed at compiling a “report form” with subsequent attribution of the score useful for the purposes of the general ranking. The registration form, attached to the notice, is also available at the offices of the Municipalities – Social Secretariat – of the Municipality of Bari and can be delivered by hand to them by 12pm on July 17th. The Emporium and the Social Boutique will be able to accommodate 70 units per semester, divided based on warehouse availability and user needs. Admission to the completely free service, for a duration of six months, will take place according to the progressive order of the ranking, with automatic scrolling in the event of renunciation and/or resignation. In case of equal scores, the date of submission of the application will be taken into account; in the event of a further tie in scores, the youngest child in the group will have preference.
