«What’s better than ending a season on the day ofthe Music Festival with a tribute concert to one of the greatest soundtrack composers of world cinema such as Ennio Morricone? And so the 2023/2024 program of “The voice of every instrument” – declares maestro Gloria Mazzi, president and artistic director of Agimus – was also very rich in great events, all rewarded by the public, and this allowed us once again to collect resources for the charitable purposes that have always characterized our activity. We remember among others “Arpeggio Electric” with Antonella Ruggiero, the duo Igudesman & Joo and the Orchestra della Toscana with the Carnival concert “Rachmaninoff will survive”, “Pierino and the Wolf” at the Modern Theater with Stefano Fresi and the Orchestra symphony “Città di Grosseto” directed by maestro Enrico Melozzi in favor of the Meyer Foundation and the wonderful voice of Karima with Stefano Cocco Cantini and Piero Frassi at the Teatro degli Industri. We thank the Municipality of Follonica for its patronage and contribution in the organization of the concert with Nello Salza and the “Città di Grosseto” Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Municipality of Grosseto, the Province of Grosseto and the Tuscany Region, the Ministry of Culture , the Ministry of Defense, the police forces and the military barracks stationed in the city and in the province. Thanks also for the support to our main sponsor Castagneto Banca 1910, to the Conad stores in Grosseto and Follonica and to Nannoni Grappe. The concert on June 21st closes the musical season La Voce di Ogni Strumento, the longest running event of A.Gi.Mus. which has grown over the years thanks to the support of institutions and many local businesses. Close to A.gi.Mus. Castagneto Banca 1910 for many seasons, but we also remember those who did not fail to support culture through ArtBonus: Tecnoseal, Nuova Solmine, Gli Attortellati, Eta Ambiente, Pluripanel, Mobo implants. Musical projects are born from teamwork, not only between the artists on stage but also with the audience and with those who move behind the scenes. We’re giving everyone an appointment in October with “The voice of every instrument 2024/2025, but the summer will still be dedicated to music with the Agimus events in Castiglione della Pescaia and Roccastrada”.

Nello Salza, defined by critics as “The trumpet of cinema” for his important activity as a soloist in the cinema, television and theater panorama, pays homage to the most fascinating and unforgettable soundtracks by Ennio Morricone, which have marked the history of Italian and international cinema . The Salza trumpet and the “Città di Grosseto” symphony orchestra offer the public a unique repertoire complete with anecdotes, news and curiosities told by Salza himself. «La trumpet of cinema – Homage to Ennio Morricone» was performed in the most important national and international theaters and in locations such as the Vatican City and the Rome Auditorium, in Bangkok, China, in the United States. Nello Salza has performed over 400 soundtracks as first trumpet soloist, 250 of which were written by Ennio Morricone, with whom he began collaborating in 1984. In 1997 he recorded the soundtrack for the film “La vita è bella” by Nicola Piovani Roberto Benigni, awarded the Oscar in 1999. Another statuette arrived in 2015 for the soundtrack of the film “The Hateful Eight” by Quentin Tarantino, composed by Morricone. Salza has collaborated – among others – with Luis Bacalov, Riz Ortolani, Franco Piersanti, Armando Trovajoli and Piero Piccioni. He was a guest on famous TV programs such as “Domenica in” (invited by Pippo Baudo as a representative of the Italian trumpet), Tg2, “I fatti fatti”, “Festa italiana”, “Circo Massimo”, UnoMattina” and “Soliti unknown”. In 2021 he performed as a guest at the Sanremo Festival in a tribute to Ennio Morricone.

The “Città di Grosseto” Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1994 by the will of the municipal administration and over the years it has performed in the most prestigious venues in many Italian locations with wide acclaim from the public and critics (remember the sold-out event at the Verdi Theater in Florence in 2006 and in Milan in 2008 and 2018), she is invited to the main national festivals, also presenting world premieres, and has collaborated with internationally renowned artists. Since 2004 she has performed in Romania, Greece, Germany, France, Switzerland and several times in Vienna in the prestigious Golden Hall of the Musikverein. In 2012 it contributed to the establishment of the Lucca Philharmonic Orchestra, of which it became a stable and integral part, starting a co-production creating symphonic and opera-symphonic concerts. In 2024 it celebrates thirty years of activity.
