From today, Tuesday 18 June, the Lametino Archaeological Museum takes part in the Trame.13 event through a structured collaboration which in this edition sees the Museum position itself as a Cultural HUB setting the objective of improving the capacity of the public system of the area of immediate reference territorial/cultural of which it constitutes a “story of historical memory” by triggering heritage promotion practices based on the valorization of the identity relationship between the museums/places of culture and the community of reference, to guarantee mutual sustainability and socio-economic development by spreading awareness of the cultural identity values of reference.
From this perspective, within the Trame Festival of books on mafias, the collaborative relationship between the Lametino Archaeological Museum and the Trame Foundation has now been consolidated, which sees the Museum involved in a series of activities aimed at passing on the message of protection and valorisation of places and heritage.
“Civic visions. Art returned” is the name of the exhibition that will be inaugurated at Lamezzo Archaeological Museum on the occasion of the thirteenth edition of Trame Festival of books on mafias, scheduled in Lamezia Terme from 18 to 23 June.
The artistic exhibition “Civic Visions. “Returned art” will be composed of works of art confiscated from the mafias and returned to public use of twentieth century painters such as Pietro Annigonithe so-called Painter of the Queens, the landscape painter Michele Cascella, the artist of the metaphysical avant-garde Giorgio de Chiricothe expressionist painters Antonio Ligabue and Giuseppe Migneco, and then also Giovanni Cappelli, Bruno Cassinari, Ernesto Treccani. Also enriching the exhibition are painting and sculpture works by artists of our century such as Max Marra, Cesare Berlingeri, Paolo Porelli and Paul Kostabi.
The exhibition will remain open to visitors until 28 July 2024 during the Museum’s opening hours.
