New hospital, the committee’s requests and the ASL’s response: «Meetings with the designers but still no signature»

There have been three meetings between general management and designers but at the moment there is still no signature on the contract that integrates the planning for the new hospital in Andria. This is the summary of the response of the General Director of the ASL BT to the three reminder letters sent by the Committee for the new Andria hospital which in the last month has urged the healthcare company several times on this aspect after the meeting in the commission which it expected very short times, August 2024, to close the design phase. This was communicated this morning by the same committee which also published the ASL’s reply in full. In essence, there are still ongoing “technical and legal evaluations” on the necessary contractual integration with the designers after the launch of the new clinical management plan which, as the ASL explains, effectively reduces the number of operating rooms from eighteen to twelve, while leaving the rest.

Director Dimatteo, in her reply to the Committee, explains that she has “already demonstrated her attention towards this great project with the utmost commitment in following the administrative process necessary to guarantee the rapid continuation of the activities”. But the letter makes no reference to specifics on the timing and requests of the committee on a clinical management level. And the Committee itself says it takes note of the note but reserves a more detailed reflection on the issues raised considering that “nothing is said either on the timing or on the clinical level”.
