Two podiums for the Valle d’Aosta at the Italian arm wrestling competition

Almost 800 athletes enlivened the Italian arm wrestling championships in Antegnate (Bergamo) last weekend. Among the teams on the field, also the Valle d’Aosta Lions, coached by the three-time world champion Hermes Paganin. He too, pushed by his boys, got back into the game at 55, taking home a significant 3rd place in the Senior professionals category.

“I would have liked to add another title to my 13,” says Paganin, “but age had a huge impact on my recovery and I was really tired in the last few matches. However, I am very happy for the grit and combativeness of the boys on my team and I tried to be an example.”

The leading athlete of the Rossoneri team, Daniele Mathioustill competing among the Senior professionals, was unfortunately unable to confirm the recent excellent results obtained in the national and international field, but he nevertheless proved to be among the strongest Italians, playing quality matches that made him led to finish eighth in the category.

In the Master 80kg category, valid 3rd place for Didier Bieller. Daniele Blanc, among the rookies, due to some really tough encounters, was unable to replicate the podium of the recent race in Turin, but achieved a thirteenth place.
