Harsh attack from the centre-left mayoral candidate Andrew Virgil following the visit to Cremona and the headquarters of Minister Giorgetti’s Industrial Association.
“A minister arrives in Cremona, hosted by the Industrial Associations, transforming his headquarters into a branch of the electoral committee of a candidate for mayor. This already has something anomalous during an electoral competition. But the serious point is that Minister Giorgetti has confirmed the will to cut resources to the municipalities and therefore also to the people of Cremona in the silence of a candidate who on the one hand would like to govern the city and on the other seems more careful not to disturb those who make choices even to the detriment of our territory. This is the problem of the local right : crushed by the choices of others, of those “national big names” who descend on Cremona to act as a crutch for a presumed civic candidate in complete subservience towards them, this is the risk that our territory runs, in spite of the central and autonomous role which the municipal capital must have. The more ministers in Cremona, the fewer resources for Cremona. If this is the help, it would be better to have one more tourist and one less minister without portfolio”.
