According to weather forecasts, heat waves are arriving in the Neapolitan capital in the next few days, with peaks that could reach 33-34 degrees, sultriness and high humidity. Councilor Trapanese adds: “We have both our operations center and the 5 street units always busy. At the public dormitory the homeless can enter much earlier if it is hot. Already from the early hours of the afternoon. While at the Tanucci and at Sai in Vico Volpicelli, off Via Tribunali, we have reactivated showers, wardrobe changes, and beds to rest in the cool. A plan already tested last year”.
Reception centers strengthened
Specifically, the Municipality has announced that it will offer the possibility of earlier access to the CPA (public dormitory), and will strengthen the distribution of drinks and linen with the 5 street units operating in the area. It will forward the weather bulletins (civil protection alert) to the operations center to better organize the interventions. “Finally, we are thinking – concludes Trapanese – of further emergency devices to be activated should particular alert situations arise”.
