Second week of appointments for AstiTeatrothe historic national and international theater festival, now in its forty-sixth edition for artistic direction Mario Nosengo, in collaboration with Eugenio Fea.

In a journey between music and words, between correspondence and love poems, more or less obscene and forbidden, and crossing various musical genres from 50s jazz to modern day pop, we will try to tell that love is love and Enough. Even if it’s clandestine. And that writing it, sometimes, only makes it stronger, even when we feel like we can’t resist.
The Poetry Menu is a format created to spread theater and culture in unconventional places and contexts, to nourish the soul and intellect, and disprove those who still say that “you can’t eat with culture”. Real menus with poems as if they were food, and actresses and actors dressed as elegant waiters who “serve” the poems, that is, recite them upon request. The public chooses, the artists act and the game begins, in performances that become a culinary, artistic and human experience.
At 10pm, in the Michelerio Courtyard, appointment with the regional premiere of “Death or Sunday Lunch”. A show with Serena Balivo, conceived, dramaturgy and directed by Mariano Dammacco; production Compagnia Diaghilev with the support of Spazio Franco
Serena Balivo plays a woman who goes to her parents’ house for lunch every Sunday. The two are over ninety years old and, although they are in good physical and mental health, they are aware that they will soon have to face death and the unknown, nothingness perhaps or perhaps another life, and so they talk about nothing else.
The show offers the encounter with the thought of death, with questions that have no answers for us humans and leads us through the territories of the greatest taboo of our culture, with poetry and humor, to discover and rediscover, between minimal stories and visions grotesques, the beauty of life itself, the power of love between parents and children and the experience of leaving loved ones.

Photographic exhibition on the topic of eating disorders curated by Sara Castiglioni
A reflection not so much on the suffering of the body, but rather on the anguish over food, which becomes an obsessive thought, invading the mind and every area of life. The treatment process is long and complex, but it does heal. After a traumatic and profound experience, such as going through an eating disorder, it is not possible to make a point: it is in fact necessary to carry with you the teachings of the experience you have lived. And not even a simple comma, because with healing a new chapter begins.

Osteria del Gat Rustì
The Rione San Paolo Palio Committee returns to Asti Teatro with the traditional opening of the Vineria del Gat Rustì. The long-awaited event, strongly rooted in the city’s tradition, will take place this year from 14 to 29 June in the charming venues of Via Bonzanigo.
Each evening will offer a different menu, accompanied by a tasty selection of bruschetta, delicacies and homemade desserts. The authentic flavors and warm welcome will make the Vineria del Gat Rustì an unmissable stop for lovers of good food and ancient Asti traditions.
