Olympic Salerno, the Under 12s are Italian champions: the competition has been defeated at the CSI national finals

Olympic Salerno writes a page in corporate history but also in the entire Salerno youth football scene by becoming Italian champion with the Under 12 team that defeated the large competition at the CSI national finals held last weekend in Cesenatico. A record-breaking roadmap faced by the team coached by Carmine De Concilio, who had been leading the 2012 group for two years until then directed by the current technical director of the red and white football school, Vincenzo Daniele. Boys, many of whom from the age of 4 have embraced with their families the futuristic project of the club of patron Matteo Pisapia and who in the heart of Romagna after years of constant growth are wearing the Gold medal in the 7-a-side football tournament around their necks. The red and whites prevailed in the final, coming from behind to win two out of three halves, Accademia Messina while Olimpia Bitonto finished third. Peloritani ahead 4-0 after the first half, Palatucci’s goal from midfield gives a shock to the Colchoneros who win the second half and close on a high note with 3-1 in the final and decisive half. Upon returning to Salerno, a stadium welcome at the station with President Pisapia introducing the winners in Piazza Vittorio Veneto among the cheering choruses of their parents, to whom the club’s thanks go for their constant presence, the sacrifices made, the commitment and passion with which they followed their children everywhere, up to Cesenatico.

“I’m really happy. – explains Mister De Concilio – Personally I took over the management of this group last year by participating in a FIGC championship under age to accustom the kids to certain contexts and above all help them grow emotionally and characterically by comparing themselves with the older ones. This year, comparing ourselves with peers of the same age, the results were clear: we won the provincial championship as undefeated in the CIS with only one draw to our credit, while on the FIGC front we won the championship with 9 men and in the category reserved for 2011s we finished second with only 2 defeats. The numbers speak for themselves with only 4 defeats in around 90 matches, over 100 goals scored and very few conceded but the greatest victory is that of having created a beautiful family that goes beyond the pitch. We participated in around twenty tournaments obtaining important successes both locally and nationally. Coming to the finals in Cesenatico, which we entered by winning the regional phase in Naples with the other winners from the first phase, we started quietly under a scorching sun then we broke up by leveraging a very simple principle: unity is strength . With great unity we reached the final against a well organized team like the one from Messina. It was a beautiful experience which humanly enhances the path of our 2012 players who next year will return to compete at a younger age, already accustoming them to playing at 11, continuing in the wake of adaptation and physical and maturational preparation for when they then find themselves facing those of the same age”.

In the first phase, played in Pinarella di Cervia in the structure named after Brian Filipi, Olympic finished behind Uno di Noi Brindisi and ahead of GS OSA of Milan. In the play-off matches the Salerno team prevailed over Us Mulini from Como and then took revenge against the Apulian team and opened the doors to the grand final against the Sicilians. The Italian Sports Center awarded its first nine team championships on Sunday (in addition to football, volleyball and basketball tournaments are scheduled) and did so in Cesenatico, rewarding, at the hands of its national president, Vittorio Bosio, the champion teams of the project “Sport&Go! Growing up with sport”. This is the model dedicated to the Kids (Under 10) and Giovanissimi (Under 12) youth teams which saw Olympic Salerno bring the city of S.Matteo to the top step of the podium in its category. Mister De Concilio and the red and white accompanying manager Felice Ascolese opened the dance of the final ceremony which saw awards to the great protagonists of this exciting ride: Antonio Forte Santalucia, Riccardo Pastore, Alessandro Amato, Alessandro Bottiglieri, Francesco Bosco, Armando Caso, Alfredo Grimaldi , Vincenzo La Rocca, Moise Marino, Gabriel Palatucci, Antonio Principe, Filippo Rago, Simone Verducci, Claudio Zita, Christian Belgenio, Andrea Maisto, Antonio Spiniello, Luca Gallucci.
