The financial hole is now obvious and has been made evident” is what Gennarino Masi, PD city secretary, states in a note, underlining “the PD’s perplexities and concerns regarding the critical issues regarding the financial situation of the organisation”.
“The accounting tricks of the president of the Auditors, Dr. Daffinà, who, being one of the highest exponents and regional managers of Forza Italia, finds himself in a clear conflict of interest, and the sweetened speeches of Mayor Mascaro and his Administration risk bringing the municipality in default”.
“The PD of Lamezia – specifies Masi – therefore considers the situation that has arisen to be very serious and unsustainable. It must also be clear to everyone that the negative consequences of this financial disaster will impact on citizens, given that the failing entity can raise local taxes outside the limits imposed by budget laws, on businesses (especially local ones) because the bankruptcy hinders “the orderly repayment of debts and therefore the economic health of suppliers” and, lastly, the negative consequences are also political, given that the administration of the Administration in default interrupts the “normal democratic functioning”.
