Cinisello Balsamo, the Blue Forest abandoned to itself? And what will happen to outdoor teaching?

The Forgotten and abandoned Blue Forest to himself? Raising doubts about the fate of the public park in Via Diaz in Cinisello Balsamo is the city PD which, one year after the inauguration of the green area dedicated to children from nursery schools and city nurseries, is wondering what the future perspective in light of state of neglect into which the area falls.

Entrusted by the Ghilardi Administration to the Cornelio private school, the Bosco Blu was then made available to all other city schools that wish to involve students in educational and play activities in close contact with nature. This at least until recently because, as far as we know, the Blue Forest will be unusable until October 2024.

The reason? Poor maintenancewhich results in unkempt grass – as also reported in other areas of the city – and fallen branches, not yet collected, cluttering the area: “We have learned, in recent days, that the city schools have been informed that the Blue Forest it will unfortunately be unusable until at least October 2024 because the Administration does not mow the grass and make it safe from the branches which clutter the spaces used by children”, explains the Dem councilor, Mariarita Morabito recalling the numerous times in which dysfunctions and neglect were reported on the green area which, moreover, remains closed to the public outside of school hours, despite being a public space. “This happens – he points out – because the Administration, despite the maximum increase in taxes, has not budgeted the funds necessary for cutting the grass even in the Blue Forest where, we reiterate again, outdoor teaching for children takes place ”.

“This green flap was inserted into the urban regeneration project of Piazza Italia of 2018 which, among other things, envisaged an expansion of the garden of Villa Forno also including this area, with the aim of equipping it specifically for educational activities aimed at schools and making it effectively accessible to the public – recalls the PD councilor Sara Scebba -. Nothing more is known about that project, on which no criticism had been made by the centre-right and the Balsamo center appears abandoned to itself”. And he also speaks of a wasted opportunity Dem councilor Alberto Galli: “Even in the Bosco Blu the Council demonstrates great delays in implementing projects inherited from past administrations and does not know how to manage municipal resources in the planning context – he underlines -. Once again, the redevelopment of an area that could have already been returned to the Balsamo neighborhood and the city, whose arboreal heritage could be enhanced and which could represent a place of discovery and curiosity for girls and boys, is being postponed.”
