Frosinone, the axis with Catanzaro is being strengthened: a maxi-operation upon us?

Serie B – After the official farewell of Eusebio Di Francesco, Frosinone continues to work 360 degrees on the coaching front. As we anticipated in recent days, it could be closed very soon Vincenzo Vivarini. The former Catanzaro coach corresponds to the profile sought by the Giallazzurri management and, according to the latest rumours, he could also bring two players with him to Ciociaria. This is the Belgian midfielder Jari Vandeputtewho is also very popular with Cagliari, Venezia, Palermo and Sassuolo, and the Brazilian defender Matias Antonini. Both shone in the last season in the Giallorossi under the guidance of Vivarini, so the Frosinone-Catanzaro axis could even be resolved with a maxi-operation. Decisive developments in this sense are expected in the next few hours.

The profiles of the two players involved

Vandeputte, born in 1996, is a very flexible footballer. He plays as an offensive winger on the left wing and is skilled both in the scoring phase and as an assist-man. Versatility is one of his best qualities. Raised in the youth teams of Gent, he arrived in Italy in 2017 purchased permanently from Viterbese Castrense. In 2019 he moved to Vicenza, with whom he achieved promotion to Serie B. In 2021 he was loaned to Catanzaro, and at the end of the season he joined the Calabrian club on a permanent basis. In the following season he was among the protagonists of the Giallorossi’s promotion to the second division. In the one just concluded he stood out, becoming a real surprise and gaining the interest of several companies. Nicknamed ‘Le petite diable’, it is a revelation that has not gone unnoticed.

Antonini, born in 1998, was born and raised in Brazil to a father of Austrian origins and a mother of Italian origins. He also holds Italian citizenship by ius sanguinis. He took his first steps in the world of football for Dream Soccer, a club set up by Luis Figo, only to then go to Gremio. In 2015 he was strongly supported by Inter who deployed him among the youth teams, then he joined the Under 19 team of Cagliari, with whom he also made his debut in the First Team. As a free agent he returned to Gremio, then Arezzo and Serie D before polarizing the attention of Taranto. In the recently concluded sporting year, he did very well among the ranks of Catanzaro serving Vivarini. Central player, preferred right foot, could arrive in the Ciociaro capital with the coach to whom he is very close.
