Raimondo Gaspa, 52 years old, perpetrator of the murder of Monica Moretti (released from prison on April 21st after serving his sentence) was arrested this time for stalking. In fact, the victim allegedly stated that the man made repeated calls to him after leaving prison. The carabinieri of the Rome Montespaccato station, assisted by those of the Trastevere company, delegated by the Prosecutor’s Office, carried out the precautionary custody order in prison issued by the investigating judge against the man.

The story
Raimondo Gaspi during his stay in prison, was granted some permits and at that moment he met the girl who, however, was engaged to another inmate and from that moment the nightmare began for the 20-year-old. In her complaint, the victim reported that a man had begun to repeatedly harass her on the phone, even making harsh sexual advances, to the point of inducing her to change her residence. The same day he was released from prison, Gaspa made the first two anonymous calls to the girl in which he had made explicit advances on her. According to the investigating judge who signed the order: «to date the man appears to be drawn from an irrepressible criminal impulse which led him to reproduce, a few hours after his release from prison after 22 years, restricted for the voluntary murder of the woman of whom he he had fallen in love in 2002, serious illicit conduct involving criminal behavior which denotes a truly serial nature».
Femicide
In 2002, Raimondo Gaspi he was arrested in Sardinia for the murder of Monica Moretti, a urologist aged 38 at the time. Gaspi killed the woman with 51 stab wounds and for this reason in 2004 he was initially sentenced to life imprisonment but then the following year the Supreme Court annulled the sentence of the court of appeal and established the new sentence.
