UPGeSP agents arrested a foreign citizen seriously suspected of attempted murder.
The events took place on Sunday at lunchtime when the presence of a woman was reported, astride the window frame, trying to move away from the house on the mezzanine floor, with a little girl secured to her back by a scarf. Having seen the scene, a passer-by helps the woman and her daughter get out, another person calls the police.
After making contact with the applicant, the police go to the apartment in question. Here they find a man, a foreign citizen, who reports that the rest of the family has left the house for a walk and denies a quarrel with his wife despite the screams that some passers-by had heard coming from the apartment.
While the Flying Squad officers are in the house, the woman returns and reveals herself to the police in a state of agitation and with the beginnings of a hematoma on her right cheekbone. She reports having had an argument with her husband, being insulted, beaten and then running away. Specifically, the man reacted to the woman’s request by punching her. When the woman attempted to leave her home, her husband forcefully wrapped his forearm around her neck, making her breathe hard. The struggling woman managed to free herself and scream for help, managing to escape through the window thanks to the passerby.
The victim was taken to hospital where she was found to have fractured her larynx with a prognosis of more than 40 days. In light of the facts, the man was arrested.
The criminal proceedings are currently in the preliminary investigation phase, therefore the presumption of innocence of the suspect applies until the final sentence.
