The State Police concludes the preliminary investigations into a case of theft and receiving stolen goods

The State Police of Matera has served the notice of conclusion of the preliminary investigations, issued by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Matera, against three women, all residents of the city. The suspects are accused of various types of aggravated and continuous residential burglary, receiving stolen goods, possession of clandestine weapons and illegal possession of ammunition. According to the investigative reconstruction carried out by the Flying Squad, one of the three women, a 26-year-old, stole a series of silver and gold jewelery from the apartment where she worked as a babysitter, after being hired in February last year. The landlady discovered the disappearance of the valuables and reported the matter to the State Police.

Also involved in the investigation are a peer, the former’s cohabitant, and the young woman’s mother, accused of receiving stolen goods for having resold the jewelery at some gold buyers in the city, receiving over 1,500 euros. The two young women living together are also under investigation for another episode of receiving stolen goods and for the possession of 6 cal. 12 shotgun and two assembleable metal objects, equivalent to an illegal firearm, kept in their bedroom. In compliance with the rights of the persons under investigation, the presumption of innocence and the necessary verification at the hearing, the accusations are currently being investigated in further detail while awaiting trial.
