For this occasion, the Department of Agriculture will host the screening of three films, different in topic and language, which address the relationship between man and the environment starting from events and places in Sardinia. The event, preview of the 19th edition of the festival “Thoughts and Words: books and films in Asinara”has as its title Tramudonzos, “changes”, to underline the double meaning of the word, the “passive” one linked to the climate, and the one referring to the positive changes that must be implemented to seize the opportunities of adaptation.
There will be a comparison between three Sardinian directors, three authorial views on the environment:
Tilipirchean 18-minute short film by the Cagliari native Francesco Piras, it tells the essence of a part of Sardinia, that of those who have always lived and survived thanks to the land. The story of a breeder and his relationship with his son, to whom the management of the sheepfold must pass during a terrible invasion of locusts. A political film and an investigative film, which in addition to telling a story describes a cross-section of contemporary reality.
In S’Ozzastru Carolina Melis uses the language of animation to “give voice” to a thousand-year-old olive tree, witness to historical events. A short animated story about the life of a tree under whose branches the lives of men and women flow, unaware of how much their existence depends on its presence.
Finally, in theShadow of fire Of Enrico Pau, the protagonist is the lunar landscape of Montiferru after the 2021 fire, a live testimony of the author who went to those territories to document the devastation and immediately collect the thoughts and emotions of the inhabitants. A documentary film that talks about destruction but also about rebirth.
