“Invitation to vote Piendibene” • Terzo Binario News

“Let’s face it: the crisis of this political class which in the last 10 years not only has not been able to plan a future of sustainable development for this territory, but has in fact proven inconclusive on the economic, tourist, social and urban decorum levels, required a serious attempt to give incisiveness to government action, investing in a complete and modern program led by a personality with high and proven professional and managerial skills.

In fact, the perfect post-Carbon storm that threatens to leave 1000 jobs on the ground is looming over the socio-economic future of Civitavecchia.

I reported this danger in December 2017 (Press Conference, Hotel San Giorgio) by proposing projects and alternatives to the political discussion, but then – as today – that Administration turned the other way, busy with completely different matters.

Unaccustomed to discussing, the city has lost any political point of reference, so much so that, in the last elections, at least 2000 people literally threw their European elections ballots in the bin.

In fact, there are just as many blank and invalid ballots from those who have forgotten – or do not know – that the 260 million PNNR of the Municipality, the 160 million for the port and also a very large part of the so-called regional funding pass through Europe.
The mayoral candidates (some more or less) thank these defectors from Europe and receive, without saying a word from their “fans”, 1300 more votes than their lists (in the municipal elections the blank and invalid ballots were less than 600).
The history of the last five years gives us, moreover, seven Centre-Right councils, decidedly too many to govern with planning continuity, but enough to demonstrate an extraordinary race for the seat, with a completely personalistic instinct.

The task of trying to escape from the post-Coal economic crisis, transforming it into a development opportunity, falls once again to politics. But this policy must first overcome its crisis.

The next ballot, in this sense, seems a bit like the last train and I would like the last five years of “cosmic void”, in which so many right-wing personalities and personalities have continued to float suspended between one council and another, to remain imprinted in the voter’s mind.

For this reason I invite you to vote for Marco Piendibene, wishing him to find the energy, passion and determination necessary to lead this city, but also the solidarity and dialogue between the various political forces (including the opposition) necessary tomorrow so that Civitavecchia finds the right path in what promises to be one of the most difficult moments in its history.”
