It’s the turn of the twenty-five year old from Syracuse Luigi Fazzino the honor of interrupting the absolute dominance of Simone Faggioli at the “Trento Bondone», which had lasted since 2010, with only interruptions in 2018, when the Florentine champion was missing because he was busy in Pikes Peak and 2020 when the race was canceled due to Covid.

The Sicilian pilot hit the mark in his first Trentino expedition, winning the time trial organized by Scuderia Trentina with a time of 9’16”80, or 63 hundredths less than the leader of the Superclimb championship.

Fazzino left his room in tears with emotion Osella Pa30, since he didn’t expect such a bang. The tests on Saturday had already seen him place very close to Bardhal’s Nova Proto Np01 Beans, who paid a high price during the race for some inaccuracies, a touch and some sub-optimal settings.

The expert takes the third step of the podium Achille Lombardi on a 2000 class Osella Pa21 4C Turbo, trailing by just 6″58 from the leader, while he had to settle for fourth place Diego Degasperi on Norma M20 Gea-Zytek, who also fully achieved the goal of the day, which was to go under 9’30”: 9’25″42 was the final time of the driver from Trentino, first among the home drivers.

The Sicilian Samuele Casibba on Nova Proto Np01/2, fifth overall and second in the 2000 class, also has good reasons to be satisfied, taking home an excellent 9’34″95, and above all the eighteen-year-old Andrea Di Caro on Nova Proto Np03 with a mini 1,600 cc engine, a name we will hear often in the future.

Under the ten minute barrier we also find the Veronese Mirko Venturato on Nova Proto Np03 (1,600 cc), seventh in 9’46”94, who precedes the Trentino Matteo Moratelli on Nova Proto Np01 – Honda, who regrets having worsened the rehearsal time.

The most disappointed of all, however, is Thomas Pedrini (Osella Pa30), who was traveling with times from sixth to seventh place, when an electrical problem took him out of the scene at Montesel. Completing the top ten were Damiano Schena and Michele Gregori, both on Nova Proto Np03 (1,600 cc) in 10’03”40 and 10’08”38 respectively.

Full of points in the Junior Supersalita tricolor and also among the Wolf GB 08 Thunder for the Umbrian Filippo Ferretti, who preceded the Calabrian expert Rosario Iaquinta, who leads the Wolf single brand.

In the Cn group, with three cars reaching the finish line, Francesco Leogrande celebrates on Osella Pa21, while Manuel Dondi from Bologna wins in the E2SH group, after taking his Fiat X 1/9 to the limit, achieving a prototype time, 10 ’08”04, which also earned him 11th place overall.

There was great anticipation on the eve of the GT group, the supercar group, the flagship of this «Trento Bondone», which brought 19 to the start, a record number. The winner was Giuseppe Ghezzi with the Porsche 997 Gt3 R, who narrowly won the all-Trentino derby with Thomas Pichler in the Lamborghini Huracan Gt3: the president of Scuderia Trentina prevailed by just 18 hundredths (10’33″46 his time), while third wheel was the Roman from Ariccia Marco Iacoangeli on BMW Z4 (10’37”00), with Lucio Peruggini (Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo) fourth.

The ranking of the TCR group bears the signature of Luca Tosini from Brescia at the bottom, who covered the 17.3 kilometers of the route with his Audi Rs3 Lms in 10’59”07, just ahead of Salvatore Tortora from Salerno on a Peugeot 308 by just 1”46.

Great performance by Alessandro Zanolli in the E1 group: the driver from Martignano, driving a rally-style Skoda Fabia, but with a more powerful engine than those in the category, won with a fabulous time of 10’32”61, which is also 18th overall, beating Giuseppe Aragona from Cosenza on a Volkswagen Golf by 3″41 and Tiziano Nones from Trentino on a Skoda Fabia Evo by 28″31. In the rally group, Pietro De Tisi on a Skoda Fabia did not encounter any obstacles, closing the
race in 11’31”01, leading Nicola Demattè on the Ford Fiesta by 41”50 and Graziano Nardelli on the Peugeot 208 Gt Line by 57”82.

The battle in the RsPlus group was very balanced, with Giacomo Liuzzi from Fasano winning on a Mini Cooper Jcw with a time of 11’26”59, just 2”37 less than Lana Selina Prantl from South Tyrol on a Mini Cooper Jcw and 3”20 compared to Isidoro Alastra from Trapani still on the Mini Cooper Jcw.

Moving on to the RS Cup group, Anna Maria Fumo from Taranto celebrates, who with the Peugeot 308 Rc beat Alessandro Giovanelli on Mini Cooper Jcw and Luca Tomaselli on Alfa Romeo 147 Gta Cup: the girl from Taranto got the better of the time of 11’29”88, respectively 6”01 and 27”85 less than the two Trentino pursuers.

Oronzo Montanaro rejoices in the crowded RS group, bringing his Mini Cooper Jcw to the finish line in 12’11″84, beating Angelo Loconte by just 2″55 with the same car and 4″21 by Salvatore Mondino in his Mini Cooper S. .

In group N, victory went to Lorenzo Accorsi on a Honda Civic Type R with a time of 12’00″29, ahead of Alessandro Agosti on the same car, 6″55 behind. Finally, in group A, success for Fabrizio Bommartini on the Honda Civic Ek4 with a time of 11’53”25. The first two of the TMSC-SS group are from Trentino, competing for the Civm, but not for the Supersalita, namely Adolfo Bottura on Lola B99/50 and Gino Pedrotti on Tatuus Fr 2.0.

As far as historic cars are concerned, it is an important name that we find at the top of the overall ranking, given that it is Salvatore Riolo from Messina, who scored in his third participation in this race. This time, to leave nothing to chance, he faced it behind the wheel of a Prc A6, a 1990 prototype built by Paganucci and powered by a 2500 cc BMW engine, setting a time of 10’55″01, which allowed us to reach Vason with a 15″73 lead over Mario Massaglia from Turin on Osella Pa9/90 from group 4, also from 1990, who is celebrating the success in the ranking valid for the European Championship (IHC), from which Riolo is excluding.

The third step of the podium in this hypothetical overall ranking goes to Ildebrando Motti from Reggio Emilia in a group 2 Porsche Carrera Rs, the best with a covered car, who covered the route in 11’53”66. Said of groups 2 and 4, as regards number 1, the Austrian Gregor Frötscher celebrates on an Austin Mini Cooper S 1275, in 3 his compatriot Gerald Glinzner wins on a Porsche 911 Carrera and in 5 the Frenchman Jean Marco Debeaune on a Van Diemen Rf 82.
