Nerazzurri candles for Emanuelson, a few months in Bergamo

The former AC Milan and Roma midfielder and his nine-match stint in Bergamo, today is his birthday

Urby Vitorrio Diego Emanuelson was born in Amsterdam on June 16, 1986 and today he turns 38. He grew up in the Ajax youth team, and it was with the red and white team that he learned about great football, becoming a key player. In 2011 he moved to Italy, to Milan. His experience will have mixed success, with stints also at Fulham and Roma.

The January 21, 2015 moves on loan toAtalanta. His debut with the Bergamo players came in the match against Cagliari on February 1st: he played nine matches with the Nerazzurri, leaving Atleti Azzurri d’Italia at the end of the season. Having returned to his homeland, to Utrecht, he remained a free agent at the end of the 2019-2020 season but, on 29 September 2020, he signed a new semi-professional contract with the Dutch club Ajax. This season too he plays few matches but on 16 May 2021 he played his 250th match in the Eredivisie between Ajax and Utrecht. After having never set foot on the pitch again in the 2021-2022 season, he becomes Henk Fraser’s assistant in the summer of 2022 covering the same role also in Jong Utrecht. In October he returns to play by moving toAjax amateur. The following year he became Dave Vos’ deputy at Jong Ajax.
