Twenty goals in thirty-five games: that’s the haul of Gennaro Tutino to Cosenza in the season that just ended with the team that survived. After a season like this, the Neapolitan footballer and his entourage hoped to play in a club with different ambitions in Serie A or at least in a higher Serie B.
Despite this, the president Eugenio Guarascio exercised his right over the player and redeemed him in full:
We have redeemed Gennaro Tutino. This is an important investment that we made last year and that we want to maintain.
The response from the player’s agent was not long in coming:
Tutino’s professional goals do not coincide with those of Cosenza. He wants to play in Serie A or fight in a B team that can win the championship by storm, I think Cosenza can’t fight for this. His cycle ended last season. And I was left speechless by President Guarascio’s behavior. He didn’t even bother to make a phone call to the player to tell him that his intentions were to redeem him.
Tutino was linked to Lecce on two different occasions, the last in the Serie B market then won by the team managed by Marco Baroni. In that case Lecce then opted for Strefezza and Di Mariano.
