Bologna, a 38-year-old arrested for the murder of a bricklayer

There are “passionate reasons” behind the murder of a bricklayer which occurred yesterday in Bologna. The Flying Squad arrested on this charge a 38-year-old Ukrainian, already known to the police and now under investigation for having caused the death of a 40-year-old compatriot, Roman Matvieiev, a bricklayer, after brutally attacking him in a house of via Ferrarese. The investigations are coordinated by the deputy prosecutor Michele Martorelli.

The 40-year-old bricklayer was found with various injuries to his body and head

The injured man was found lying on a chair, with various wounds on his body and head. At the Maggiore hospital where he had been transported after the rescue, the forty-year-old had undergone emergency surgery: his spleen had been removed and he had suffered a skull fracture. The man then died late yesterday morning.

From the fingerprints taken and the videos, the alleged culprit was identified

During the investigations in the house, the forensic police officers detected latent fingerprints, attributable to the arrested person. The images of some video surveillance cameras also captured his arrival in the building in via Ferrarese, where he entered armed with a blunt object and came out a few minutes later with traces of blood along his arm.

The elements provided allowed the public prosecutor to issue an arrest warrant for the crime of murder against the 38-year-old Ukrainian found in the Pilastro area in a car. Taken to the police station after the necessary searches, he was subjected to interrogation and, after arrest, he was taken to the local prison. The motive can be traced back to passionate reasons.
