Countering the malamovida in Quartu, bars and restaurants on the coast checked

From the early hours of the evening to 3 this morning, the soldiers of the Carabinieri Station of Quartu Sant’Elena, together with the personnel of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit (NORM) and of the Carabinieri Stations of Maracalagonis, Sinnai, Sestu and of the Anti-adulteration Unit and Healthcare (NAS) of Cagliari, conducted a coordinated service aimed at controlling the nightlife and combating health and hygiene violations in the nightclubs of the coastal strip of Quartu Sant’Elena.

During the service, an ethnic market and some bars and restaurants located on the coast and a destination for the local nightlife were checked. All businesses were found to comply with current health and hygiene regulations, and no violations were found.

During the evening the police carried out several checkpoints checking numerous vehicles and individuals present in the area. Among these, they also verified the situation of 21 subjects subjected to various alternative regimes to detention. During the operations, a 17-year-old young man, resident in Elmas, was reported to the Prefecture of Cagliari as a drug user. Following a personal search, he was found in possession of 0.34 grams of kief. The substance was seized and kept waiting to be sent to the Narcotics Analysis Laboratory in Cagliari. The young man, until now, had never been the subject of similar reports.

The Carabinieri will also continue to carefully monitor the nightlife areas, with particular attention to nightclubs and the areas of greatest tourist influx, intensifying checks on the main roads to prevent and combat any driving behavior that may endanger road users, helping to maintain a safe and secure environment for all.
