Almost twenty thousand euros in fines for nightlife venues in Palermo in the area of via Spinuzza, piazza Olivella and via Matera. Eight pubs and clubs were monitored by police officers, the Carabinieri, the financial police and ASP staff. Five were fined. In a pizzeria in via Spinuzza the absence of the Scia was ascertained, occupation with tables of a large and unforeseen portion of public land, non-compliance found, hygienic deficiencies and failure to update the HACCP manual.
Music without permission
Also in via Spinuzza, in another venue, the creation of small musical entertainment without authorisation, the occupation of public land and the high noise emissions outside the venue were contested. In addition to the administrative sanctions, in this case the temporary seizure of mixers and speakers was triggered. The owners of two other premises in the area were, however, accused of failing to periodically check the cash register. The owner of a pub near Piazza Fonderia was accused of occupying public land, failure to comply with the Dehors regulation, violation of the HACCP self-control manual and presence of a kitchen area not covered in the Scia registration request.
Road checks
Overall, only during the services carried out in the center of Palermo, 189 people were identified and 39 vehicles checked. In parallel with the inspection activity in the city center area, the State Police also took steps to extensively monitor the seaside village of Sferracavallo, which was stormed with the first warm weather by swimmers and tourists.
